Tawheed-ar-Rububiyah

- Why are we created? To Worship Allah (swt)
- Attributes of Allah (swt)
- Fruit of the rewards
- Proof
- What you can do and what you can’t

Three definitions Oneness of the Names of Allah:
1. To believe what Allah (swt) described himself to be in the Qur’an and what Prophet (saw) described Allah to be in the authenticated Sunnah in the way befitting his majesty.
2. It is our concrete belief that Allah (swt) is the only deity that is befitting to have the glorified names and divine attributes bestowed upon to him.
3. (same as second) by confirming that Allah (swt) confirmed for himself and confirms what prophet (swt) confirmed about Allah in the Sunnah. Without depriving (stopping, altering, eliminating) from the glorified names of Allah

Importance of the Science:
1. Your Iman will increase by knowing the meaning of the names and attributes, hence using those names and attributes to worship Allah (swt)
2. The proper knowledge of this science, the way it was for the ancestors, so we have to learn the proper knowledge to be obedient to Allah (swt)
3. Holding on and being steadfast on the straight fast.
4. True knowledge of the meaning in the Qur’an and the Sunnah
5. The honor of knowing the names and Attributes of Allah (swt)
6. The best Ayah in the Qur’an (Aytal-Qudsi [Ayah 255, Surah Al-Baqarah]) was the best because of the Names and attributes of Allah.
7. Surat-ul-Iqlas is equivalent of 1/3 of the Qur’an, because of the same reason (Names and Attributes of Allah).
8. The fruit of your belief will be the act of worship

Fruit of the Belief:
1. Knowing the path to Allah (swt)
2. Increase your love and fear of Allah(swt) – Sincerity to Allah
3. Purifying your soul of Shirk
4. Stay away from the acts of disobedience
5. Being Content and Renouncing Life (example: if you know Allah (swt) gives sustenance, why look at others with envies)
6. Never despair of Allah (swt) mercy
7. With standing calamities (If you are going through hard time, who will answer your call? Allah (swt))

End reward is Jannah for knowing the 99 names of Allah (Swt)

Path of Ah-le-Sunnah:
1. Confirmation – we confirm what Allah (Swt) has confirmed for himself.
2. Negate - Nafi – (Allah, your lord is not forgetful. Aytal-Qudsi. La-illaha-illilla)
3. Stop - Tawqif – I will not add or take away anything. I am only taking what I am given from the Qur’an and Sunnah.

Proof of what we said above:
1. (Surah Al-Araf (7)– verse 180) – For Allah is the glorified names, use it in the Dua (supplication), and leave those who are left astray in his names, there will be held accountable for what they did.
2. (Surat-ul-Shura, verse 11) – There is nothing like on to him. It is a definite verse.
3. (17, verse 36) – Do not venture in that in which you do not have any knowledge off.

Sunnah:
1. Na’kal - Sunnah – O Allah, you are the first and no one is the before you…
2. A’kal – It is a wise person, who confirms what Allah (swt) says about himself, negate what Allah (Swt) negated about himself
3. Al’Fitra – Primal instance – Allah (swt) - Greater being, you want love and worship…
- The people who were let astray, so many of them come back and repent

Theories of the Names:
1. All the names of Allah (swt) are Glorified
2. There are certain things, known for Allah (Swt) alone
3. Tawfiq’iya – Stop – do not add or delete anything
4. The names of Allah (swt) is not restricted to a number

Ruling on the Divine Attributes:
1. All attributes are perfected
2. The Attributes are larger than the names
3. Attributes: One is confirmation and one is negation
4. Tawfiq’iya

Opposite of Monotheism of the glorified names and attributes:
1. Al’ilhad; to lean towards something: Those who went away from the truth
2. Abandon: You take something away from it, or you do not take something from it. To deny a fact.
3. Analogy: There is nothing like on to him
4. How does Allah do it? Allah is at the level of throne. Do not question, about what Allah has confirmed.
5. Submitting: All the names of Allah and attributes are only Allah knows that
6. Let Astray, changed the meaning of the utterance, either by writing or saying
7. Interpretation: we accept some interpretations and refuse some interpretations.

Sets that were left astray:
- Jabiya: denied the names and attributes
- They confirmed the names, but denied the attribution
- Al-shali – confirmed the names and some of the attributes.

Ruling on those who do that:
- If you do it out of ignorance, you did not mean it, you are off the hook.
- If you do it intentionally, to follow your wills and desires, they take them out of Islam.
